Joseph Marsicano's Eagle Scout Project:

About the Project:

Josephs project was to fundraiser, purchase and install 2 electronic scoreboards at Sykesville’s Freedom Park. Each scoreboard is powered by a single solar panel and 1 12-volt battery as well as wirelessly controlled via a specialized and easy to use remote control. To achieve Josephs lofty goal, he fundraised $21,617 for a project estimated to cost $22,000, he accomplished his Fundraising through over 40 private donations, 7 Fundraising Events and 5 Corporate/NPO donations. After accomplishing his fundraising goal, he purchased both Solar Scoreboards, contracted a local company to prep and install the scoreboards. After both Scoreboards were installed Joseph acquired 6 railroad ties, approximately 1 ton of gravel and a bed liner all through donations from a local landscaping company. Joseph then dug a trench at the base of each Scoreboard to install a gravel bed flush with the ground for the ease of mowing. Josephs project is the most colossal and ambitious project in troop history.
